SORG is a second-generation family business and employs over 200 dedicated employees.

We have been developing and producing individual solutions for people with special needs for almost 40 years.

Particularly concerned we are about the smallest and most important – children and young people. Since every person is unique, our wheelchairs and standing devices are always made to measure and tailored to the specific requirements of our customers.Unique people, unique solutions.

Hugo Sorg

Our company founder Hugo Sorg's experience in the field of wheelchair development goes back to 1977. Together with Erich Purkott, he founded the Sopur company in Malsch and together they revolutionized the industry with their newly designed wheelchairs.

The new wheelchairs set completely new standards in functionality and design. They are much lighter, much more maneuverable and easier to tip than anything previously available on the market. This spirit of innovation in functionality and design led to the continuous growth of the Sopur company over the next ten years.

Company founded

The concept of individual production has had an impact. SORG Rollstuhltechnik expands its capacity by building a production hall with an office building and moves to the current location in order to offer consistently high quality through optimized processes and a multiplication of the previous production area.

1995
From the garage into a newly built production hall

The concept of individual production is showing its effect. SORG Rollstuhltechnik expands capacity by building a new production hall and moves to its current location in order to offer permanently high quality through optimised processes and a multiplication of the previous production area.

2006
Doubling the previous capacity

Thanks to steady growth and continuous product improvements, SORG is once again in a position to double its production capacity. This is crucial in order to continue to be able to offer our customers the high quality they are used to. To achieve this, we rely on regional suppliers and modern production methods that enable us to manufacture the required components in the desired quality directly in Germany. This way, we ensure our standards and at the same time promote the local economy.

2008
Responsibility for the future

SORG Rollstuhltechnik relies on ecological sustainability and produces a large part of the electricity it needs itself using its own photovoltaic system. With this step, SORG assumes responsibility for the environment with a view to a sustainable future for future generations.

2009
Generation change

As part of the generation change, Marcel Sorg takes over the management of the company. This secures the future of the company in family hands. Hugo Sorg can now concentrate more on technical innovations and the further development of our products, while Marcel Sorg takes over the entrepreneurial leadership.

2012
Construction of another large production hall

Thanks to a consistently good order situation and the trust that our customers place in us, things have become tight again in our production halls. The construction of another large production hall was therefore decided and carried out. Our raw parts production is now housed in the new hall and we were able to further optimize production and internal processes by redesigning the production areas.

2017
30-year company anniversary

SORG wheelchair technology is celebrating 30 years of success and innovation. During this time we have been able to support countless people and improve their quality of life through tailormade, technical solutions. We are grateful for the trust in us and our products and look forward to many more years in which we can continue our vision: unique people, unique solutions.

2021
New bulk warehouse and more production space

Once again we are reaching the limits of our production area and storage space for materials. To meet this challenge, we have set up an external bulk warehouse. This not only creates valuable space for additional assembly areas, but also enables us to have even more efficient logistics and faster order processing.

2022
35 years of SORG

We are proudly celebrating 35 years of company history! Since our founding in 1987, we have continuously developed, driven innovation and built close partnerships. With passion and dedication, we are dedicated to the task of manufacturing wheelchairs and standing devices that are specifically tailored to the needs of their users.

New production hall

By moving into another hall in the immediate vicinity of our company location, we can further expand our production capacities and make processes even more efficient. This expansion enables us to respond flexibly to customer requirements and further increase the quality of our products.

2024
Optimization for the future

In order to be able to successfully handle the persistently high order situation, we have expanded both our team and our structures. The purchase of additional modern production machines and the optimization of processes enables us to work more efficiently while maintaining the quality of our products and services. We are therefore ideally equipped to meet market requirements and further strengthen our position.
