- Standard wheels: With our standard wheels you have the most choice possibilities. Choose between aluminum or stainless steel handrims, choose a Maxgrepp handrim or a removable silicone cover and choose the desired mounting option of your handrim.
- Light weight wheels: Our light weight wheels come with an already mounted aluminum handrim, which we would also be glad to deliver in a colour of your choice. Maxgrepp handrims or silicone covers are also possible here.
- Profile wheels: Profile wheels have a built in handrim. To better your gripping comfort you can equip it with an ergo-inlay or a silicone cover.
Further handrim options
Maxgrepp handrims
Maxgrepp handrims can be mounted on standard or light weight wheels and close the space between rim and handrim. They are 33 mm wide, ergonomically formed for driving with the heel of your hand, made of silicone and make driving easier especially for users with impaired fine motor skills.Maxgrepp handrims are available in sizes 20“-24”.
Silicone handrim cover
The allrounder hand rim cover for standard, light weight and profile wheels. Thanks to its very soft silicone surface it enlarges the diameter of the handrim and guarantees perfect grip.
PVC handrim coating
Thanks to the additional PVC coating, the handrim has a more pleasant feel and better slip resistance. The PVC-coating is unsoluble from the aluminum handrims. In addition, the handrim is less sensitive to cold/heat. The handrim is available in sizes 20″ – 26″.
Note: A PVC handrim cannot be used in conjunction with profile wheels.
Double handrim
With the one-hand aid, double handrim, there are two handrims with different diameters mounted on one side, whereby the bigger one moves the wheel on the same side and the smaller one is connected to the opposite wheel with a connecting axle. This way the use of one handrim allows you to drive round curbs and the use of both handrims allows you to drive straight ahead. The connecting axle can easily be mounted or demounted and allows the use of a double handrim on foldable wheelchairs.
Handrim with knobs
The nub ring allows tetraplegics or roller-skiers with missing or restricted finger or hand function the independent movement by means of knobs. The power transmission to the wheelchair is facilitated thanks to the knobs, which means that longer journeys are no problem. Please note that braking is not possible due to the knobs! Particularly when driving downhill, an experienced and strong companion should help, because the knobs always turn, even when you are pushed.
Ergonomic handrim
The ergonomic grip allows tetraplegics or roller-skiers with missing or restricted finger or hand function as well as better control and force transfer, thanks to its larger support surface for the thumb. As its name suggests, the gripping ring is not round but has a special ergonomic shape, which makes it easier for wheelchair users to ride longer and decelerate.
